What is a sprint?
A design sprint is a time-boxed process that lets you take on complex challenges through sketching, prototyping, and testing. The short time frame and the fact that it’s separate from your day to day helps break out of boxes, foster creativity and create alignment.
Design sprints provide a structured framework for identifying and addressing key challenges or opportunities, enabling teams to bring clarity and focus to complex problems.
Design sprints focus on rapid prototyping and user testing, allowing teams to quickly validate assumptions, gather feedback, iterate on potential solutions, meet user needs or expectations and reduce risks when developing products and features.
These two-week sprints are designed to split between making and testing. While the specific activities we undertake vary based on your needs, typically the first week is focused on making, the second on getting feedback and drawing out insights.
During the two weeks we’ll do the heavy lifting, while your team dips in at critical points to drive the direction and give feedback. Working through design iterations we’ll help you align your team, validate ideas, learn quickly and move ahead with confidence no matter the stage of your product, app or website.

Week 1
During the first week we’ll move quickly from clarifying the problem we’re going to tackle to translating ideas into a tangible form, turning concepts and sketches into a testable object. This process involves rapid design that leads to a concrete example that embodies the project’s objectives, setting the stage for in-depth evaluation.
Week 2
In the second week, we test and validate the artefacts through interviews with stakeholders and users. After each round of sessions we’ll record the feedback, extract insights and revise the screens. We’ll then synthesise what we’ve learned and apply it to a preferred flow and solution which we will hand off so your team can implement.

Who we are
Futurebits Sprints are brought to you by Codename Design — an award-winning agency with a 15-year track record of designing and leading successful digital products and websites. Our roots run deep, starting as the two-time Emmy-nominated product team for a startup that exited in 2009. With over 30 years of experience each, our principals know what works and what doesn’t in both the startup world and large-scale enterprise environments. We know how to navigate complex projects in sectors like education, healthcare, and exponential technologies.
Our expertise spans from initial strategy and design to launch and beyond, working with everyone from Fortune 500 companies and large nonprofits to dynamic startups. For the past 15 years, we’ve been embedding into teams over the long-term to transform complex ideas into top—tier digital products and websites. Our goal with Futurebits is to make the techniques and expertise we’ve developed available outside of our long-term engagements, so we can help teams quickly solve pressing design issues with efficient, predictable processes to kickstart transformation.
Whether you need to bring an idea to life, optimise a user journey, redesign critical screens, or just get a project back on track, we’ve been there and done that and we’re ready to help you jumpstart your project. Because we believe that from little bits big things grow.
